We serve women in the USA, Palestine, and Tanzania, providing support, resources, and access to life-changing moments and skills to transition from childless to parents or from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.

We work at the crucial intersection of women and conflict, providing legal assistance, expertise, and resources that create lasting change for women, their families, and their communities.

When women have the power to change the course of their own lives, they can change the course of their communities – for the better.

Our primary focus is on supporting women seeking fertility treatments. We understand the financial and emotional burden that comes with fertility treatments, and we’re here to provide grants and assistance to make this journey more accessible.

Helping Women in the USA with Infertility

We understand how challenging dealing with fertility issues can be for women and families. Apart from being a difficult-to-talk-about topic, pregnancy loss and infertility can cause unbearable pain and sorrow. Furthermore, the medical costs can be overwhelming.

For Women Like You International was created to be a beacon of hope for women struggling with infertility. Since most insurance facilities don’t cover fertility treatments, we support women of all backgrounds in the USA through financial assistance that can be utilized for fertility treatments.

Fertility treatments include several medical interventions that help couples achieve pregnancy when natural conception is difficult. Some of the common fertility treatments include Ovulation Induction, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In-vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Assisted Hatching, Donor Eggs or Sperm, Surrogacy, Gestational Carrier, Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) and Surgical Interventions.

Our mission is to positively impact the fertility journey by offering awareness and financial assistance. Your involvement could give hope to couples dreaming of having a family.

Tanzania

Women, especially in the rural areas, of Tanzania are faced with multiple difficulties. More than 50% of women and girls in Tanzania experience physical and/or sexual violence. There is also a significant gender gap in monthly income, with female mean monthly income being almost half of that of males in Tanzania. Apart from this, women are overburdened with unpaid labor such as household tasks, childcare, and collection of water and firewood, which prevents them from having enough time and opportunities for paid work. Girls fall behind on education as a significant number have to leave education due to their menstrual cycle or early pregnancy, leading to fewer opportunities and lower pay when they enter the workforce.

In some parts of the country, women also lack freedom with regard to reproductive health. They are prevented from enjoying education and employment opportunities due to high rates of early marriage and teenage pregnancy. Access to information about birth control is hindered by those in power, resulting in women not being able to make informed decisions about themselves and their families. To top it all, women are also disadvantaged when it comes to gaining access to asset and property ownership and financial services. All these factors contribute to poorer mental, physical, emotional, and economic health for women in Tanzania. However, all hope has not been lost. Tanzanian women are resilient, brave and ready to improve their lives. With your support, we can create a lasting impact and help them reach their full potential.

In rural areas of Tanzania, we are committed to empowering women through education. We believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and creating positive change. We focus on women who have suffered the consequences of physical and emotional abuse and proudly provide them with educational support and opportunities to uplift themselves for the benefit of themselves, their families, and their communities.

Women and girls from countries like Tanzania suffer disproportionately from high levels of extreme poverty and abuse. At the same time, resources for survivors of abuse, such as healthcare, psychosocial support, protection, and justice, are minimal. For Women Like You International has established a program that gives women in Tanzania a positive and dignified way of regaining control over their lives.

Palestine

The current situation for women in Palestine is complex and faces several challenges, particularly due to the ongoing conflict. The recent escalation in violence has disproportionately affected women and girls. UN reports indicate a high percentage of civilian casualties in Gaza, with women and children making up a significant portion. Displacement, lack of access to essential services, and heightened risk of violence are all major concerns.

Furthermore, UN experts have expressed alarm over credible allegations of human rights violations and gender-based violence against Palestinian women and girls, including rape, arbitrary detention and violence.

Traditionally, Palestinian women’s participation in the workforce has been restricted by limited economic opportunities due to the structure of the Palestinian society. The ongoing conflict further hinders economic opportunities, impacting women’s ability to support themselves and their families. In addition, patriarchal social structures and gender roles within Palestinian society can be restrictive. Limited access to education and restricted decision-making power within families are ongoing issues.
